Forest Wisdom

Think like a tree

Welcome to my first book review. While my own book is available on Amazon through this website, I would also like to take the opportunity to share some of the lovely reads in my life.

I chose this book because I love walking and spending time in nature, it is where I feel at peace, it is where I feel free, when I am in nature I am just me. As you will see from my galleries, I really am surrounded by a lot of natural beauty.

We associate trees and woodlands with harmony, health and vitality. And yet so often we struggle to experience these qualities in our everyday lives - Sarah Spencer

I was drawn to this book straight away, there were so many quotes and references and also I liked the way Sarah encompassed her love of trees and nature with the psychology of human beings. Her book is about the ethos of how our happiness becomes greater once we are in nature, which I totally aspire to.

The book is divided into sections:-

Woodland wisdom

The Natural Principles

Observation

Purpose

Surroundings

Connection

Resilience

Future

Here is a random page to give you a taste of Sarah’s style:-

Her title - “Invest in your wellbeing”

Her quotation - “Your heart is full of fertile seeds waiting to sprout” - Moriheri Ueshiba

She then goes on to write about how trees flourish from season to season and how we flourish, look after our bodies, how we eat, sleep, breathe, exercise and how we deal with outside stressors

The exercise - “Put together a wellbeing plan. Change just one thing at a time and keep a diary to track the results”.

“Spend the day in the outdoors discovering the ways that nature can support you with your wellbeing”.

This book was such a joy to read and my description is a mere glimpse of her book.

Look deep into nature and you will understand everything better - Albert Einstein
