2021 Rituals and Renewal

First of all I would like to wish everyone a healthy, happy and safe new year.

A new year normally means times for reflection and the making of lots of new plans. It is also a good time to have a massive Feng Shui, especially if you have the minimalist gene. I do like this time of year! January is when the weather is likely to do lots of cold and interesting things, but we still have the option to hunker down in the evenings for some real Hygge time. We also have the optimism that the days are getting longer and Spring is just a few weeks away. So while we may not be in a position to cram our diaries full of events, I personally hope that this gives us all the opportunity to live more in the moment, while remaining safe. As most of us in England are now in tier 4, I think safety is all that matters, we are so fortunate to have the NHS and all our key workers.

For me it is a good opportunity to start a new journal. This has been a favourite activity of mine for many moons, in fact way before it was called Journalling. I used to be the owner of many pretty notebooks. It is such an uplifting thing to do.

In my book “Happy begins now”, I have a page all about journalling. I generally use mine as a Gratitude Journal. I also like to keep a goal setting journal, once things are written down, they become real, they become an action rather than an idea. If you are a listologist and like to be organised, keeping a journal is an excellent idea. It also give you permission, to just sit and build some happy rituals and routines into your lifestyle. If you are uber busy, they are a gentle introduction to a little bit of creativity, while avoiding a spaghetti head, this is how I visualise my head to be, if my current to do list is still in my head and hasn’t yet been put into a journal.

If the only prayer you ever say is thank you - that will be enough.

Until next time - I wish everyone a very safe and healthy 2021.
