The power of flowers …
Dear lovely readers,
As we edge towards the Summer Solstice, I thought I would write and share some pictorial gratitudes with you.
As it is also Rose and Peony season. I thought I would share, courtesy of my book:-
The healing power of flowers by Claire Bown and Eva Nemeth, offers some meanings behind them.
Roses mainly represent love
Red - true love
White - purity
Peach - sincerity
Yellow - cheer and joy

The Peony is often associated with devotion. In China they symbolise luck, happiness, fortune and wealth.
They are often seen on Chinese porcelain and the name Sho Yu means “most beautiful”.
What is your favourite flower and why?

Three of the things I try to do on a daily basis. 1. Have some fresh air 2. Get some footsteps and 3. Capture a photo where possible. Once we capture/photograph something that brings us joy each day, our phone becomes a our own happy place. We all take photos of our loved ones, pets and friends on a regular basis. What if we took photos of things that bring us joy in nature? Perhaps try taking a photo a day and then journal about the joy each picture and walk brought us or any other feelings that arise. Admittedly with the weather as it currently is, some of those walks may include ducking under an umbrella/tree, but after a rainfall there is always the lovely petrichor aroma that arrives afterwards.
Capturing a daily landscape is also an uplifting practice, especially when we are having one of those days that leaves us feeling heavy/emotional. We can sometimes turn those feelings around by looking at our photo reel and being truly grateful for all that surrounds us.

It is also a lovely way of reminding ourselves of the seasons and also the possible footsteps achieved.
